Information Structure and the Grammar of Knowledge in Turkic Languages: Interface of Phonology, Morphosyntax and Semantics (2020.4–2023.3)

Posted:2020.04.24

About the Project

Project term: April, 2020–March, 2023

This project conducts in-depth descriptive studies of individual Turkic languages by investigating the phonological and morpho-syntactic marking of information structures and knowledge management and exploring the theoretical generalizations that have been made about the interfaces between phonology, morpho-syntax, and semantics. The main focus of this project is related to the linguistic phenomena regarding sentence foci in different sentence types, such as intonation, cliticization, and word order, with the aim of contributing to the development of theoretical research by providing a new perspective on descriptive Turkic grammar studies.
